Iguana Diet
NEVER FEED: lettuce,
broccoli, cat food, dog food, monkey chow, crickets, mice, mealworms, and
trout chow!

Calcium rich vegetables: ( two or more per feeding) turnip greens,
mustard greens,beet greens, kale, collards, bok choy, Swiss chard,
dandelions, parsley, romaine, escarole, spinach, alfalfa pellets, timothy hay,
any edible flowers, and grape leaves.

A weekly variety of frozen mixed vegetables, squash, zucchini, sweet
potato, bell pepper, peas, beans, okra, grated carrot and
sprouts.

Whole grain breads, natural bran cereals, and pellet iguana
diet.

Figs, papaya, melon, apple, peaches, plums, strawberries, tomatoes,
banana (with skin), grapes, and kiwi.

Vitamin and mineral supplements
|
Should only be given once or twice monthly due to the high vitamin D3
content which can damage the kidneys.

Calcium
|
Calcium can be supplemented by applying a dusting of crushed cuttle bone
or oyster shell on the food several times a
week.
